Based at the University of Alberta, SVCC Language Schools is a non-profit organization that has been providing the Edmonton community with language classes since 1980. As an important member of SVCC, the SVCC Mandarin Language School (MLS) now has over 15 Mandarin- native-speaking instructors and about 8 classes for all ages, and nationalities. 0 q4 ~/ Y9 i6 L. M7 Q
SVCC Mandarin School offers weekly language classes in Fall, Winter, and Spring (3 semesters per year). All classes are held on the same day at the same time: # h ~* i/ v1 j7 e* I) }
• When: Saturdays 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM& m4 U6 s* N9 K, ^: s- c7 I9 O3 R' R* ]
• Where: Classrooms in Education Building, University of Alberta (11210 87 Avenue) . |3 R" j! E) a* G3 d; e) I5 o
• Duration: 11 weeks per semester. h; w6 K' y7 u! v. y$ [

 Recognition. SVCC holds regular events and gatherings to recognize its volunteers' contributions. 3 P: S% o4 k& S
 References. Volunteers who have been with SVCC for less than 3 semesters will be given a generic letter of reference upon request. Those who have more than 3 semester of service will be eligible for a personalized reference letter. b& W+ a V4 s: c+ {) }7 D
 Reimbursement. Volunteers are reimbursed for all SVCC-related expenses such as transportation, photocopying, and book purchases.# @8 K. A1 z6 t3 T

Position 1 (operational group):
n7 J+ f6 \. M# f$ r2 s1. Responsible for day to day operation.2 _- C1 @/ s1 {- P" b* ^
2. Conduct teacher’s evaluation and giving assistance to instructors;5 @5 m7 c( o6 f
3. Plan parties and arrange meetings for the whole MLS;' ]) ]( |" A+ J& b& v \. C' L+ c7 Y
4. Hold orientation class for new instructors.
