死和干细胞研究而深受广大右翼保守派基督徒和穆斯林选民青睐的美国共和党高层人物
中发生了多起同性恋丑闻，这些人都有一些共同的特点：共和党，基督徒，在多项社会

While in the legislature he served as Senate Majority Leader. During these

1 o/ j: s3 d& c4 T5 ^4 Hhave banned gays and lesbians from working in schools and day care centers.
He also proposed a law that would ban all sexual activity among persons
" P8 r! w4 R3 A* f0 O" E. o, runder the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he
( B, C- v% x5 a, f* ^& h( O; _. ]regretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state
senator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
$ `+ b' ^& Q0 P% D+ u* z6 ^sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
9 W9 \* r- W' q) r% \9 K: x" U) j+ Qabusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
/ E* f+ P4 R7 F) W- z" @' ~0 jto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
$ B! d, j+ s; c. @: K9 vallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

7 z5 f6 Q. p) G9 T9 x$ [West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
. \- A+ }1 [. ~) T8 N8 [6 Cthe charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
% ]5 T; ]- P( r1 E$ D8 eBiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
, J2 o3 @2 b( W7 `& A- e9 W( L4 S# wjust graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
preacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
$ |2 _& q- E6 d: _; n6 Cleader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
% g# [! Y% A4 B, S% d5 N3 f+ RNovember 2006.

In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
2 D6 b* x6 z. e  ]; h/ l- @sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
immorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
" ~) Q: d/ E2 A* a+ l* wministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
. i, ?, r& @! U! Y( l3 A" Q5 GRalph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
embrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a
, R) u# ~) V8 G' Jyoung male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "
! _+ }2 n- r7 p' z4 i, Koverwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual
relationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it
wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
and this is not about "opening new wounds" it's about a much larger issue.[
