regretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state
senator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
; o# t: z9 O- Q/ X. eabusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
3 Z$ n# |# Z( O& Yand Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
allegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

  L8 o1 H; q; G+ X% {. RWest confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
- j& B  z8 L8 m* C+ e" Zthe charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
BiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
preacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
* K. b1 @) \& o  ~2 o2 U- I5 J' ofounder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
' h/ `* o4 m( q# n' }Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
3 o( V- |' h  C0 G6 g# sleader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
November 2006.

+ f& U* v6 O$ ~: S8 SIn November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
! v$ Q7 J/ f& _# x1 }, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
immorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

  g: d( B: A5 ~! n5 F) mAfter the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
  r: J5 c% }; @# gcounseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
+ j/ D$ G6 o- J  z2 k. kministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
embrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
