senator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
9 x1 A% V( g3 Y3 W3 mabusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
4 p( T0 u* m2 J: u' M0 fand Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
/ ~6 Z' V9 Y2 Z4 tto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
- M! H- u! z% @) m! M6 C4 P4 l+ X7 Wallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

" r7 W  ^" z1 eWest confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
8 O6 a+ g9 d. S; y. IBiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
preacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the

$ l3 r6 }4 u; L3 R8 [Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
$ ]9 }* ?8 n2 U9 i9 O7 Hleader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until

positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
  g7 m& w- R) |2 T3 p7 qsex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
immorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those

Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
% q8 s- g& d! @& z& }& ^2 `& l: cembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
: x' X8 ?$ T3 j  ereceive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

young male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "
