While in the legislature he served as Senate Majority Leader. During these

have banned gays and lesbians from working in schools and day care centers.
He also proposed a law that would ban all sexual activity among persons
3 J  ]5 N* J& C  ]under the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he
regretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state
senator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
allegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

- s! F/ t3 R/ M# W& k2 pthe charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-

+ @3 m& Q" B" e; n( K, `% ?) Sjust graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical

founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
leader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
: h9 r4 L) M3 i$ t. ENovember 2006.

! A$ E8 c6 j* SIn November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
immorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

) J5 Y/ n- l; K$ v( k6 ZAfter the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
5 X9 v6 ~4 z, C# \) [  Ncounseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
4 |# j  y2 z2 v9 d) o# Nministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
4 D: u* B8 b9 F% }+ GRalph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
embrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

& g" O0 O4 R: G2 o) myoung male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "
" E1 s/ f% t; ^6 \overwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual
relationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it
wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
