have banned gays and lesbians from working in schools and day care centers.

regretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state
senator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
sexual harassment.

0 x- Z0 E7 `, _4 Y/ yWest was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
. D; B2 x) S3 a  t, X$ Rallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
% I. X3 t3 q( }( M) E: e+ t# G5 R' gthe charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
BiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
preacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the

, \8 |& ~4 D2 j2 \2 Y2 KColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
8 O+ y; z8 u0 D9 dleader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until

In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
/ G  k; o# q1 S  apositions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
4 D) a0 T8 z7 a- K, Fsex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
immorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

; Q- S5 x. V/ B2 ~" ~After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
- V% \5 h6 J7 E$ z6 Q  h2 [counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
/ }5 X2 B) Z5 V7 zembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

young male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "

relationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it

reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
