years, Jim West supported several anti-gay bills, including one that would

under the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he

senator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
sexual harassment.

% W) P/ r$ N' u) B; E1 Y8 Nabusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
& Y1 E; ?% d! \* q7 lto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
) ?4 L2 T& s5 k  gallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
' s5 D) |* Z/ J# kBiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
. m4 l) M2 D& bjust graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
0 g. l6 X3 L  N: Y2 H3 m/ F4 O18.

2 P$ j) @( [4 Z9 y( ^founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
leader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
November 2006.

positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
# ^- r8 M/ b' i, ]  ~9 R2 p5 {6 Rsex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
  Y1 x# b' s$ ^; A: o# |7 W, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
  v4 k& {- S6 I& fimmorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
0 G! M' d* ~* c% N5 R8 l- J* fembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a

wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
