He also proposed a law that would ban all sexual activity among persons

regretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state

sexual harassment.

0 M, G7 J6 D' ]' QWest was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
" F! n- v; d" B/ p; Cto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
% B4 V# w8 b0 I1 t8 hallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
* e0 w5 W: y' Z# l4 Krelationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
7 H* r* U  r4 Q' J1 z, n3 h) z& C& wBiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
: s% z, I  D7 P( W, s7 w2 M' Xjust graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
preacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
" t: F( X1 S+ Y+ J) m  fColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
- q8 S3 V  u1 ?leader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until

In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
& K2 ^4 i+ b- @4 Ksex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
% o  a' N- Y7 `! o; ]0 [1 eimmorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

- E7 z& l  M+ a' D, dAfter the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those

Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a

overwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual
relationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it
5 S4 y' m* X' c1 N( D8 Fwasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at

and this is not about "opening new wounds" it's about a much larger issue.[
