years, Jim West supported several anti-gay bills, including one that would

under the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he

abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
# u3 e' `5 H! Vallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
" n% s( h2 ~  t$ xrelationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

- g0 l" i' l6 J2 vpreacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
" o8 O& i) X" e0 b$ ?/ `Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
leader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
November 2006.

) T5 @. E" @. }" QIn November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
; K) w1 R& Y' J5 `! dpositions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
; N9 _, W0 ]" _* N4 p3 ~sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
7 n0 n9 b9 l3 ]2 O& v3 fimmorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
embrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a
young male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "

the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
and this is not about "opening new wounds" it's about a much larger issue.[
