have banned gays and lesbians from working in schools and day care centers.

under the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he

sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
& J$ S7 c; m9 }; b- rabusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
/ Y4 ]$ o3 D, Sallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
) D; Q# p$ ~  F7 ~7 o3 H5 e. KBiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
' S8 i* e' q" G# y3 upreacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
9 ^' _1 h' n) M( r5 O+ hColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
2 g( |  R* U( U  u$ N9 b2 _# Wleader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until

3 ^# l3 |; L! R7 npositions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
/ \0 i; x7 D2 }' V- D& q2 I- usex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
$ |% J( v' t+ a$ A$ G5 Bbut as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
3 M  l) `, w. W: V- B6 S& Wcounseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
8 j, u/ D9 w9 C' [$ _. xembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a

overwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual
relationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it
; s8 {' m4 ~7 |1 [0 Q4 Q  swasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church

the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
