He also proposed a law that would ban all sexual activity among persons

and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
- ~* V9 e, M+ Kto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
# D, o- }' U8 _, D( Y! m% nallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
, A6 ~4 Z8 N# o$ srelationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
BiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
4 u7 u, |3 l! ^" A3 {' wsex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
* P! O) ^2 ~3 M8 U# m9 O$ f$ Z, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
4 P4 k' @* ]4 T+ u, V* ^% S( Y* Bimmorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

/ ?$ M$ A1 m# F1 i9 B% RAfter the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
' B) S6 _# b# N5 ~& Hcounseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
6 r# d1 L  @9 [Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
7 a3 _$ G( y. q) Oembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a
young male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "
overwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual
relationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it
wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
" F) L$ _( F* ^# P0 \the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
% \6 t4 f" Y6 R  Xand this is not about "opening new wounds" it's about a much larger issue.[
