years, Jim West supported several anti-gay bills, including one that would

and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
/ N+ C8 w0 G1 s- e4 ~2 Sto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
allegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
# m) N- @- m1 D9 L1 trelationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

West confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
( z/ s9 T( j2 @/ R9 m$ ^  Y5 kBiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
% W; _: D! n5 K8 T" g' ~just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
preacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
# ?9 Y: Y% }+ r) RColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
leader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
! C9 a0 r* R" _! \) ^November 2006.

In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership

but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
immorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
: p3 x( l- W5 P. L& \( ?0 `) Lcounseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
$ U, x  Z. D$ h: R+ `* b3 Qministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]

  e. k8 b1 k2 D) m/ iembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a

wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
