years, Jim West supported several anti-gay bills, including one that would

He also proposed a law that would ban all sexual activity among persons
under the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he
( o0 t! t; k. B1 S. Uregretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state
senator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
. m# h+ R) ?- P+ p( s0 t9 o5 Nabusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
' E( j. R' Q: Q! k1 ]0 x+ Nallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
% }9 V/ e% W' F# H0 krelationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

4 ^. g- ~+ v" GWest confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
BiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
just graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
( \4 W  e! `% e7 @* Y% k18.

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical

founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
Colorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was

In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
+ q' q2 G  e- A" i( z4 X; }& u! cpositions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
+ c) Y; e3 Z! J- z6 kbut as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
$ X; g7 R$ O! I- _- t' _# Q. G, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
' s7 O) P, v1 _0 t5 D% D; f" pimmorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

/ k' g* |  K% mAfter the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
embrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
and this is not about "opening new wounds" it's about a much larger issue.[
