under the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he
regretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state

abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
/ X6 `$ e! L: a8 k# S) U. Rto lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
allegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
BiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
& }! |4 E, \4 R4 @; L- wjust graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
18.

0 h& j' @( ?* a% Hpreacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
) r( e7 N4 o' P0 kColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
* F! p$ h+ A" o; O: T3 aleader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
% q) G. x5 J1 ]/ ]; p4 INovember 2006.

In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
3 w' X2 ]0 I( g7 V6 U+ Qpositions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
4 r' @& ^# t: p! U( J2 ?. h' G3 j' bsex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
9 u3 s, p5 r, E; D, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
( D8 F5 V- T/ S) v: kimmorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
9 c4 T  L+ B# N$ c4 y* G9 Fministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
& }$ ?1 r$ f9 u) c; WRalph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
) V" X: e; e; M" a0 h: |% I8 Aembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
0 b4 @- ]; \* K2 w, n9 ^) `% freceive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

young male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "
overwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual
relationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it
wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
and this is not about "opening new wounds" it's about a much larger issue.[
