have banned gays and lesbians from working in schools and day care centers.

under the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he

# j$ b/ {; {7 M5 |9 q4 d4 Xsenator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
sexual harassment.

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
allegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-

( G  R: w* E2 O1 F' S) x% c8 X& ?$ Gpreacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
* O4 ?5 t$ H$ ^% O# V  yColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
leader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
November 2006.

In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
$ U8 j  G5 }* @+ _/ ]6 ^. [  Q: V* W$ mpositions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
0 ~/ a4 \* g$ o% csex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
& }, h7 J6 W% Pbut as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
+ B, u0 b# X$ k, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
immorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

After the scandal was publicized, Haggard entered three weeks of intensive
counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
' l  }5 ]; B5 W% b% p; l" Uministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
+ @+ [3 m  S. kembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to

reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
