! ~, g' u; ]: t% l) V! x- NDevelops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model
5 h* {! G9 [; |$ YGenerates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents
8 C( e: w+ I7 E, B$ B6 r' t+ FWorks with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results
Implements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available
Provides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface
6 g  F) P  T# [3 _' \3 FInstalls software and provides user support; liaises with users to enable their productive use of the software
3 H: U4 K& {! t. b7 IQualifications
( T# L, L5 ~9 p' k1 @B.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development
4 g4 u: M1 d- Q9 F* q! Z9 N* H: uRelated experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset
) U. q+ _% s$ I+ B6 M$ R( M" p/ }+ T2 IProgramming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance
