Duties
% t: g/ @8 z. e `$ V1 aDevelops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model
0 x+ R6 I7 F9 p/ s* u9 m$ vGenerates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents
3 ]% e! f. i7 k5 j$ aWorks with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results( s% N" ?/ K3 R) G
Implements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available4 d9 J" W8 ?: l6 k$ r! |
Provides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface

Qualifications
! d; F" ^2 Y# I0 O( c7 {" J4 |3 eB.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development
" r8 @5 Z% x. {% }2 H. N& eRelated experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset
- f m/ G0 r$ o7 `9 \Programming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance) b2 j, c- z( R& S5 ]
