Employment Developer

 Set up and monitor work experience workplace training, job shadows, etc.

 Follow up with job maintenance assistance

 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.
) E: q0 S; k* o. c8 D- g Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
+ y9 a( ?/ z& m; t  r" d0 y. o Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.
  A7 X* J9 Q" S# @ Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
/ x* V* l; r2 r* Z( D Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.5 K( m2 x+ l( d
 Update and maintain job boards.3 _4 W, I! [. k9 q7 _! a3 J- u
 Be required to work flexible hours, with some evening and occasional weekend work; p1 u& Y6 I8 |9 T) m6 H4 \
 Update clients files on Mobius computer system

Settlement Counsellor
# t, w: |" h  b3 o7 F, y# u Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.
7 V# r% S+ H( V3 W Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.6 u0 w7 w0 v; M0 m9 L( X; {
 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.
# n1 Y# V$ x4 H9 E2 ~ Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers5 o; R' R$ S5 n) u% ^2 I0 ^
 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
7 J2 d& D' h- ]$ K# @  D$ p Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.! R/ A9 q/ `: Y8 i* w' C& d6 q/ u
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.9 q/ E5 q  T0 R! e- G5 s
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.% d3 a0 f3 Z0 m9 x7 y
 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

 Attend multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings, as required- B* ?, d- ~5 t8 ~# Z, r  ~+ Z" D/ ~" ?

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments., k- q3 F% A6 l( k
 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.* v4 A- q) h& M
 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.
+ \: |5 ^, Z" e2 g& e) R. M Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
' y9 N& @& v* e4 h  K8 [; z Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.( `& i. g* [1 s0 f& g: a/ [
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan./ `( B7 |  F- w* m3 F
 Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system

Service Manager
- c6 P/ ^1 H$ Y9 Z, [ Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period
" r  E  a, O) C) g+ P Ensure participants’ progress is tracked and recorded
5 u0 G$ t! I) e8 @ Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan$ i7 V, D" Y1 ~! Y4 N! A
 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
' X" S! X/ Z8 b Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
/ K* s. f7 Q/ ^9 c  F# B Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
0 Z2 G! w2 t' }! }3 M* p Complete participant reviews with the participants
8 h) a2 Z% m) H7 | Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion. Y" Q4 f1 y, v8 X% @0 m5 r) z; a5 D
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
