根据Driver Training and Driver Examination Regulation, Alta Reg 316/2002:

19(1) A person shall not give driver training for consideration unless the person8 b( k4 V2 N# h \ {$ U
; h0 o5 c- d# h8 ^+ X. n( z/ i* L. j (a) holds a subsisting instructor’s licence, and/ K% a- W0 y, h3 K* O
8 G( p7 ~* j; c: Q; [ (b) is employed by a driver training school.' Q' O' b1 B% J! ]; y" e2 y+ F. |
5 Z0 s: Q8 H7 g9 U# X: _(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to

(a) a teacher employed by a board under the School Act who is giving classroom training only while in the course of that employment, or" @9 Y- H5 _: n. z) X! x7 ~* n
J' x) b" H6 i3 N/ ?4 [ (b) an instructor employed or engaged to give driver training to the employees or prospective employees of the person who employs or engages the instructor.
