Position: Outreach Worker " L- _+ I7 }5 k( F
$ d) }) x1 g- d" i1 O, xJob Description- s& S, z: g) ?8 s# j
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information, q. i \ K9 M+ m; \% ~: W
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
( Z: i" o _) ]; ~( n- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
1 y7 d$ `, o; n9 i- provide support to ISP staff
/ `/ B% {- k' P4 v( g }- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members8 l$ i% m: d5 {( q
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
* L! z1 k& {; P/ y7 ?) g! c- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated( @. p, q- c1 N9 k0 N( U2 x
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
+ t" T3 ~$ g3 Y2 V9 {- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
& y- V+ w. Z2 h, U- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder0 ]1 f! v, i- y9 b. [
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.

- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned3 D$ f- D5 l+ D
- other duties as assigned

Qualifications
3 W' n4 x; Y$ J+ h! q- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
9 m6 v" Q) H4 F4 P: z* a- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available* ~. f2 s; u3 v2 E
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
* R4 I8 O2 s/ \( v, e# m- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
6 j/ J! N3 k7 A0 {- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)& Q$ S' k" X* R) C
- good interpersonal and people skills
* y- W6 {6 N n: |6 V( j- good organizational and coordination skills2 b; L3 u& l. Z! s2 D
- valid driver’s license- e& t/ _; r' E1 @9 _! T
