The Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association (ECBEA) and the Chinese Graduates Association of Alberta (CGAA) are seeking volunteers to help out at the Chinese Pavilion during the 36th Annual Edmonton Heritage Festival 2011. Come out for a day of fun and sun, meet people from all over the globe, and best of all, come celebrate Chinese culture,+ V0 [& P/ G4 N7 q/ r2 c, {- U
tradition, and food!

4 m+ R( |# @) b" Y4 ~! AAnyone can! No experience is needed, and on-site training will be provided to all. This is4 c8 u9 Y$ t+ M' |1 D' X6 h
an excellent opportunity for students to earn volunteer credit. (Age 14 and over
A5 J) w3 [ E$ l* ]preferable, under age 14 requires parent/guardian supervision).

Where will volunteers help out?

Volunteers can help fill the following positions:( X5 t6 y; m. p# V, t7 B( T
 Demonstrate and sell Chinese arts/crafts/ X' t2 T+ L T3 R
 Serve food and drink to festival visitors
6 i9 l! \1 Q; J0 n Food/drink preparation/transportation
6 e$ f/ g" t& W Entertain visitor with fortune telling game4 {7 J5 w# \7 z. h5 g: T" K
 Demonstrate and write Chinese calligraphy
. Y) @" n! h4 e. ?$ }. v6 o# d# Z Run the sound system for stage performers, MC if needed
: p9 q# p) D* [ Help out with miscellaneous tasks around the site" R9 V8 [+ T: K8 I }
 Site set-up/take-down(July 27-August 1, 7pm-11pm)3 P: o6 V$ o; z& x5 B

 Transport volunteers/equipment to the festival site(Age 25+ with valid Alberta

 Teach visitors to speak some Chinese, any dialect5 j3 U6 `; B/ ~" X% Y; a
 Perform at the Chinese Pavilion Stage e.g. singing, dancing, hip hop, drumming," L3 O7 }. E$ }0 ?; n( A+ v
playing musical instruments etc.5 {& y) Y* \) x8 g" \
 Demonstrate various Chinese artistic cultural skill e.g. painting, drawing, crafts,
, [% U1 g9 J: U B6 bdough arts, playing Chinese yo yo, etc.
) ~6 O. C+ E3 u- }% N7 X H Play or demonstration a cultural sport/act on stage e.g. acrobats, martial arts,' h, ^( E' c( @; U0 e
clowning, acting etc. --- Performers are welcome!' ]* a7 O& l8 u" |/ w0 h+ q

 Chance to win one of the $250-$400 Heritage Festival Scholarships by
