SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
# r/ w3 }/ K, O5 y7 QSEDI is staffed to:
7 e5 K7 N5 A0 K6 T; T• conduct socio-economic market and policy research , r+ ^6 [( ]- h) d: d; e1 j
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners , k3 B% t) C/ _! c7 a# w
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
- t! W# _; p. d/ w: k9 M$ i; Z• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
6 [2 p" n4 y: H# W! e# e9 L• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits

• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
3 ~$ j2 v$ z8 H9 p ^Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
' t+ u( T# d6 d& p5 w, X/ l• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada $ k. x0 ~9 N' g: X3 g) q
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) . m: y2 F# t# w
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 2 E, o; d% P3 X3 P' f T
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 4 v$ J- m! Q; s# b
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
e) q9 d5 F1 [: L# |6 h: ^• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required ( _: H: `: y6 m8 c3 d: K
Other Activities:
5 k+ k, f" P2 J• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies ) ^6 N8 P5 D! o* T& Y1 x
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
0 S3 B: a9 P4 D9 Y• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 8 F: l7 c2 f" b* G0 E t
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
% g3 J& u+ Y/ M4 {4 @0 M) K# E• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning
* ?7 A; e9 c, E6 sPrimary Qualifications: [% y0 _/ a9 U1 K
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
1 E9 ?0 W' k8 @5 p• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media " d% v' ~5 Z4 z- b# D& y
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
5 F3 B3 |* t8 K• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 5 d' B. \ T$ w" [1 k
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 0 |1 [" r7 d) f& p7 p* L2 B R
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
! U" x& x/ D! @• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
) i; S z( j8 y9 k• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
' N) q3 U' T/ T3 T7 y# G• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset ! u1 e) ]/ i5 h% w
• Policy research skill set is an asset
