A T. u7 _2 \SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
% L3 a# a% f u( s& d7 @$ MSEDI is staffed to:
- P! e; r4 S! j2 M' `1 c• conduct socio-economic market and policy research " t* ~- i, k& ]8 N5 F! Z
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
$ s+ k. m& j; V1 B, y4 z0 _; X• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
- q( z+ K/ K! Y' m4 ^9 x" C• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs ; Z+ L' M$ i! g5 r
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
; P! Q+ D$ G, |1 Q+ P; x• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 1 H3 l# B7 Y" o2 D

Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 5 |1 U7 ]1 x* X! J: ~0 _. ?
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 5 p9 s2 W5 B) \, }
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) + j1 Q' X# w1 b G" u
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
* b$ o* Y/ @1 }! U• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities ( ^# |$ C8 B; Z& i. b
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
9 y4 \: f U* ?: u* O3 ?+ x/ N• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required / ~0 A5 G8 f7 T/ V, G; j
Other Activities: d+ n, n1 M# f7 m' Z: V3 K- E/ h7 a
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
% s7 d* ~9 v8 p1 P• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners " o% i# Q1 G& z( D. r8 e: T- u% y
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 5 t6 t' a5 \" ~ V e7 E
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports - L# f: v" r3 o* z0 {
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning , l$ y" `- P" |0 e" l% e8 v" `
Primary Qualifications: 8 G; W# w0 y) P4 L
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 6 B8 I! D: U5 w7 Q+ o; L" C8 A; ?/ O
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
o, H% J6 ~: N# V# S& i• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training # V# B' s4 B/ m+ j- M) n6 ?$ p
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts * f% a! V6 z1 t$ ]$ Q1 ]: s4 p- S0 M
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 8 C: j5 x9 _1 V1 ~: M
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 5 z" G% `, c; _7 ?+ n( I. ^
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Excellent organizational skills

• Policy research skill set is an asset
