SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
r: r# D2 K: H( F0 i* m6 [SEDI is staffed to:
6 X- U' k* `$ _+ p. ]• conduct socio-economic market and policy research / ~+ j, \# f- N
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 4 ]) \$ C) \% t1 G$ \+ G$ H( D( ~1 e# {
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
3 Y* U; r9 @! j; P. |* n# m• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
) C4 D8 ]4 x5 `; M" |9 _! v& V• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
' l/ s. a$ Z& T6 h$ _+ {) e• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses
; R6 ], ^; c5 f• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
' O% t, I5 n8 I1 u2 V• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 8 L8 n& f# ?) R+ j9 I$ s
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required , X" D4 Z4 F1 U. V
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
. y; O3 H6 y1 K$ e+ L) r2 m* w• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
' P# e. }: [5 p! }, ^• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

/ D! E2 e' }' d7 C• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
3 t6 t9 W4 w* A• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners + G( w! g+ P4 V
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting " [/ B! x$ H' t. g. A- T# s9 q
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
) s$ D& I! ~# b+ r7 g. H& Z• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning / C4 G0 ]0 g2 N7 ^/ w7 b
Primary Qualifications:
/ O6 x+ w b) u! z• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
) _% x( |: @: [# J3 Q+ z& \• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media + t5 }& W9 E: d: }& t
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
( C2 m. r0 C) l; p7 b• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities L9 U. _* n* m- t0 x
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams ) {$ V) B8 j( y1 d3 t
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals 5 t7 `, ~, I. o4 }" o! h: R( I
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts 9 c! |$ J1 }" r
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 2 @: n5 c" f7 _( c2 ]0 Q, M
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 4 G* W" ~: R# P
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education ) ]! M# _/ k% A, _+ j6 v. U
• Content / curriculum development experience * v, M6 U9 [) A ~
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners , ` }. H% H2 C6 c' N
• Excellent organizational skills % I- s1 O( {$ L m
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. 4 x) |0 S- V- }3 w$ ~
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
