Volunteer Job Description

1 S( r! h6 H/ q2 gPosition:        Youth Leader
# q) R1 y. X' {. h% VDuration of Commitment:Summer T.A.N.G. Youth Program
/ s# l2 {* F4 B6 DCamp 1 – July 04 – July 14
Camp 2 – July 31 – August 11 (must attend an overnight camp on August 10 to 11)
& N: a  m& `- M% J- {1 W+ R8 G8 BTime:0915 to 1600(Regular Program Time)
*might work in other time in some specific days
Place: ASSIST Community Services Centre

Program Coordinator:        Daniel SUEN


: e  D2 h4 M7 e. H- \Duties:
To assist the T.A.N.G. Youth Program Coordinator by providing clerical and/or activities support in the followings:

 Distribution of promotion flyers to schools, churches, communities and relevant social agencies and professionals
6 L6 H% c& O9 i# G+ o Take attendance if available
 Provide positive modelling to youth
  z+ A1 E/ N" z  M Facilitate or assist in ice-breaking games and/or other activities
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
 Research activities related to the session’s topic upon advice of the Program Coordinator
9 x& ^% z4 n. R) e7 i. \9 D/ g  ? Watch out on the safety of youth either in centre or fieldtrips
2 F; t' M" q# x( Y5 b Report to the Program Coordinator for any doubts or concerns and/or any troubleshoot behaviour
8 N0 X0 Z, ^) H& `4 ]5 {* W Act according to the guidance or direction of the Program Coordinator
/ o- X, q' F/ z: s& H, J: F Must follow guidelines or procedures stipulated in the manual/training
+ x/ e. a' r; K0 i* q Attend debriefing sessions/ongoing training
$ J+ l3 @7 \  x5 X) H/ ^- h! O Assist in program planning/design
 Any other program related tasks as assigned by the Program Coordinator

& i2 p8 ~. z+ y) f. L Mature, sensible, patient, organized, willing to take and follow instruction
 Be open and willing to initiate and maintain a positive relationship with youths in the program, or youth who is matched on an one-on-one basis
 A team player, can get along well with other staff & volunteers
 Concentrate efforts in the group session or activities over other distractions
 Able to work independently with minimum supervision
6 X, F! n9 s9 J% a. `5 v6 a Value building on strengths in children, youth and families
1 H( u1 R4 b* o3 C) Q Able to get along with youth and/or youth who might at risk
8 E6 v) z5 u# o' d% [: d: g3 x Certain proficiency in English and Chinese
