Volunteer Job Description

Position:        Youth Leader
Duration of Commitment:Summer T.A.N.G. Youth Program
  R7 t0 e" ]# f" ~& qCamp 1 – July 04 – July 14
Camp 2 – July 31 – August 11 (must attend an overnight camp on August 10 to 11)
$ ]6 F4 a' N) k8 |Time:0915 to 1600(Regular Program Time)
*might work in other time in some specific days
Place: ASSIST Community Services Centre

! b( I! T  t( i) MDuties:
) E8 s* G6 P! S- wTo assist the T.A.N.G. Youth Program Coordinator by providing clerical and/or activities support in the followings:

8 B% Y$ j$ N2 ]0 g3 _ Distribution of promotion flyers to schools, churches, communities and relevant social agencies and professionals
 Take attendance if available
9 L3 d6 l' ]* ?: U7 j5 K3 @5 A Provide positive modelling to youth
 Facilitate or assist in ice-breaking games and/or other activities
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
 Research activities related to the session’s topic upon advice of the Program Coordinator
 Watch out on the safety of youth either in centre or fieldtrips
 Report to the Program Coordinator for any doubts or concerns and/or any troubleshoot behaviour
 Act according to the guidance or direction of the Program Coordinator
 Must follow guidelines or procedures stipulated in the manual/training
" F* u0 Y! @: ] Attend debriefing sessions/ongoing training
 Assist in program planning/design
" ]. x  v, Q5 U Any other program related tasks as assigned by the Program Coordinator

( ~* [8 k) [* F6 M$ L Mature, sensible, patient, organized, willing to take and follow instruction
$ J6 q0 T9 l2 d Be open and willing to initiate and maintain a positive relationship with youths in the program, or youth who is matched on an one-on-one basis
% C  x% E2 p% K& x" C  ~/ t/ X5 ~ A team player, can get along well with other staff & volunteers
2 B8 T, d+ a! N  M) { Concentrate efforts in the group session or activities over other distractions
0 I7 q  [7 A9 [4 _6 H1 \) ^ Able to work independently with minimum supervision
 Value building on strengths in children, youth and families
 Able to get along with youth and/or youth who might at risk
/ R4 s9 G' G4 ^& A Certain proficiency in English and Chinese
