( O4 F+ K: s- G$ A) r, tYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
1 j1 W; c/ }+ v& {* Gpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
8 ]' }# J2 h+ i3 C# ]/ {employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
$ n# z$ f! K# FThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
2 U& Q/ ~, A3 W' qAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
- \' E  L  v6 f/ f3 w2 \and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
follow-up once the program is completed.

YOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
