5 Q) A2 O7 U) }* K& h5 C0 V+ F8 E  YYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
1 R  k. X5 D6 `% |+ s9 Apeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
( i5 |" l6 \: Z& D2 `The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

' }9 [! t" W6 p5 j" n  K- A7 M' |  R1 G: Cproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
. I% b. m# V" @% T9 h' W; S  vThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
' K4 a5 |. ]; S  v* a* ]6 W8 O3 Tthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
1 _5 m6 S  Z/ Y9 ?5 |/ Zparticipants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
  u# H0 D$ C0 t* @& `) Ypersonal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
. i2 f, ?5 Y& \and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
