YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

Payroll:
4 V" X- S: g; e* ]9 q; A J6 {& d1 j• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired1 P+ K9 @: }, s, O! ?
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
; e* @, r0 p* V8 ~ a1 }• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
. `, H4 H, r( b8 ^4 c• Input benefit deductions into payroll0 s' t; U p: r1 _, H& J7 r1 e3 z

Reporting duties:% u- x3 j5 ?8 {& u: J! R* a2 v; V+ N
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider7 x3 V* ~6 R4 E* `- A) }( M& q+ s
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website5 _/ H& N! D5 F4 {
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s5 A, N" O4 L$ b
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority R$ l7 X4 Q- h6 L& a0 u/ o
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

! L W, I4 q ?. M1 B$ ^Compliance:
# R$ p2 |( \! L$ ?• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 8 V0 X- C, o9 v0 F# _8 s
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
e7 L; U% l0 p- w# }8 o. {. U6 Q2 f• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies5 Y' k: }& b5 u S
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

( D& U6 p( F/ @2 U E" FAccounts Receivable:
* y9 t4 p1 L4 b9 x• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
0 F: M$ H# Y' t% A, p2 B; u4 t8 t S• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
8 V. i, Y6 q) i* y ^3 ]+ T• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments( C8 e. c5 }# J4 N7 x: c
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:) f" C7 G: P7 {+ I7 O/ `, C- v6 k* T
7 L4 n0 A7 d* J( ^
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
% }8 N# U' G) p+ @7 `0 ~• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association9 o% N5 w! N9 O+ d* R Q
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
) t, t% w2 t O) \• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office" V4 o& Y8 C9 e" G; @: g( F
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work# k9 F; _( m! ^4 ?
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure( _$ m( r! u1 t, u
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures4 \0 k& V' @# f6 N! `" d; A
