Job Responsibilities:

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
6 _, e: z/ Z$ i) t1 p• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll) v3 O M- ~! f$ i7 ~& B# X
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
' y6 |% Q( l) X& ~( e5 e( V• Input benefit deductions into payroll
/ R" i5 f0 G; l0 [0 S' A6 U' x9 ^! ?' L! a7 T
Reporting duties:
' s2 v: @( M9 F; [4 N8 q/ B• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
# c3 a7 n& x/ s& M8 q• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
: x4 _8 H2 V. z. b8 h1 b• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s. \/ S/ t: C( C) G5 v
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
( J1 C1 p; d$ X, X• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations" j0 d4 d+ y: @( X4 n; F
& W; c0 M( {( [+ L0 J/ `Compliance:0 _$ d0 l3 Q4 p- J4 D2 J
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
# Y3 F8 [3 q' E/ r5 U3 ~• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
1 S; v! R3 J, Z. U• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
% b I3 |" M% Z: m! [; H( t: Y• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting$ L( C8 ]: R+ g5 B" ?

Accounts Receivable:, C% q/ h5 N! e) V5 a3 @
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
6 J5 u5 n5 U! ~ h+ t [) B0 J1 X• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
) U% C5 U. a0 V/ A• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments1 V1 D; W" V# d
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing+ O3 H9 k _% o6 |4 f' N

Qualifications:

1 L# X: j) {; a- l J) l• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
7 L+ V& o$ F4 i, _3 D4 o• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
1 n) G3 V1 W+ E4 Q2 U• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
0 |2 `" Z! q* }• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office5 I: A% q, k1 ~4 A( P% T
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work" ?) H# b% n3 O
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
