Electricians perform electrical inspection, maintenance, and repair activities on locomotives in the repair shop, on service tracks, or other railroad property. They have a good grasp of basic electronics, computer systems, fuel injector systems, and locomotive failures.

They are also generally responsible for tasks such as:

Good eye-hand coordination

Ability to frequently lifting weights up to 50 pounds

/ m0 l& ~6 V3 G( Y7 i- u; CAbility to do physical work, sometimes outdoors in extreme weather conditions

Regular exposure to dust, pollen, fumes, noise and vibrations

Work is performed in a heavy industrial shop and outdoors as required with regular exposure to dust, pollen, fumes, noise and vibrations
& K  R' k6 L: J8 N/ l, g) bCandidates should expect to work weekends and shifts, especially nights and afternoons in support of a 24/7 operation.

Candidates must be fluent in oral and written English and will be required to pass aptitude tests, an interview and company medical which includes visual acuity and hearing threshold tests.
