Position Profile  
( W" H: f& y  Y: C6 L) BElectricians perform electrical inspection, maintenance, and repair activities on locomotives in the repair shop, on service tracks, or other railroad property. They have a good grasp of basic electronics, computer systems, fuel injector systems, and locomotive failures.

Repairing

Monitoring electrical components

Using tools such as a chisel, drill, fuse puller, and overhead crane

Apprentices

, L' d: n) K8 mAt least one year of post-secondary education in a related program of study.

Good eye-hand coordination

Ability to frequently lifting weights up to 50 pounds

Occasionally lifting weights up to 100 pounds

* w- k9 `$ K0 iAbility to do physical work, sometimes outdoors in extreme weather conditions
: E) ]* v$ J$ Y5 l3 a% ^. n
Regular exposure to dust, pollen, fumes, noise and vibrations

Work is performed in a heavy industrial shop and outdoors as required with regular exposure to dust, pollen, fumes, noise and vibrations
# b9 W, h  p4 \. c/ y* bCandidates should expect to work weekends and shifts, especially nights and afternoons in support of a 24/7 operation.

Candidates must be fluent in oral and written English and will be required to pass aptitude tests, an interview and company medical which includes visual acuity and hearing threshold tests.
