Job Description:
i& ?6 B- [6 v+ n S7 _0 h7 k• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
( d2 M/ t" v* A$ s0 P2 Z% R2 U• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
+ _4 |9 B- B3 r# s" Q• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
( A( ~: N5 [; H• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams, ^4 t+ v' v- h4 [2 l
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place6 w; @! |* F: g; [! J# l0 M
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
, V( r E t8 _/ w/ e, }( z6 k• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
6 t, y! o8 Q& s) [* m* i• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
v( y7 B* C+ T/ ~ N1 |• Mix paint, blend and match colors$ f) _; H8 K" |
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns \, t9 T- B8 K q. v; \
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs( w+ L- J) P( E# A4 r
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
# C4 ~7 n& s3 _+ `# c) @• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
