In general, key aspects of the role are:
8 I4 |7 }' _: r/ b+ Y6 H; u, n-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
5 r: l4 i1 Y9 Utechnology;
+ r7 p9 T3 ~; A' I% t  z( z-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
& g. _0 h- I1 t" D0 G-        Testing system changes;
" G- z5 e1 y7 L# Y# ~8 r" c-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
department’s change management processes;
/ M& g$ D$ T6 x0 q-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
7 @$ [6 m7 }4 o' X6 V# @-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
+ h, C5 _& h, p-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and

A. Mandatory Requirements
(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.

6 U" i: ~7 m# m0 S, B(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

- j- `$ ]7 S( e* e3 [% O& [" e(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

1 u0 q. j1 y* Y/ I! u(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

4 H: X( j- G% G- L2 {0 M. o(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

  a; M; e+ l2 {& T$ y1 Z2 s(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:

- Nunit

(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
& O/ t7 J0 f% ?2 W# K- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
2 v& p# ~' \! R& A9 y( n" `( H- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
