Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
: [, W* Z- l+ b- submit information for community news : k( d: }! H9 [5 u* L
- provide volunteers to update membership database7 a X8 |) u* @) ]# }1 Y
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
' v; f1 o% X( R- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
) E8 J/ _2 O7 T9 ~ {9 T- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties) X# _9 k, I* \9 Z& S- [+ p
- provide volunteers for various programs
( ^ C& e% w: X8 E+ t- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
5 P7 V( x4 C7 m. K g2 T+ a- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation5 @7 Q4 ]/ s" D2 q
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
$ A% n3 z8 K% ?8 x' m. _2 Q- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services3 M) P% n4 {. e1 \1 V$ F
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports# L; ]0 M% U) Q5 {8 z
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed4 Q' m9 i) P$ Y% G: t
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
4 B: b, {9 U( S4 S- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
5 U8 l1 ?1 A7 G# Y7 W- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events : U: C3 C! @& w6 |# |6 g
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
9 Q8 @+ h+ b! w, I2 G' `* o% w- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers , R* N$ }. n3 p5 s q5 y% j
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
2 F# r) L( t. Q4 N- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications8 e4 i. G9 q7 P$ G! U7 i, U
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education7 v3 S- J! b+ [( f+ s
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
1 m" t$ z2 x5 {* G# E% I$ q- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services; t* Q ]% u7 U5 B6 `" Z& L
- leadership skills
* ]( b- p O: {( T9 k% i& G4 o- management and supervision skills
. y# B ~6 o2 X4 ?2 j- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
