Key Responsibilities

- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers( j- H% ^! d* m5 G! E
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties) Q9 b; J; E* s r0 f" d% M& X/ L6 O
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
+ j; r) h1 m4 k! b4 W- provide volunteers for various programs 6 s& @) x* ~3 a9 S% Q5 `7 ]) h" E
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
; E8 j( C9 c" K& E/ S% i5 @- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation6 I1 P& I y; Q5 G, {
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities" C! ~- v2 h) y' M* o. O6 i
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services2 p* e# w( E# O1 S# ]2 k5 c
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports9 V1 p7 v* t0 Q0 {9 a" @
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events $ j6 R% c. h* t9 A O0 q/ P2 G1 M
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual $ [8 N, D G ^6 K3 f
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
; f7 A3 M, @" F, L7 r4 T; J- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
& ~/ y6 ?7 b* F' P- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 3 [+ |- S5 Q$ X, ~. R
- evaluations

2 f4 a3 ?" K5 L+ P4 z- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
4 G+ y/ T7 E$ m$ ?: \- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 e4 [5 r4 E/ ^) B$ U/ p9 j: O- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services+ ~& j1 I1 | h- s2 R
- leadership skills
! F. K- u% O( ~- management and supervision skills
