- submit information for community news 4 U9 Y3 x+ x* R! D+ u# t! f: e
- provide volunteers to update membership database
" N9 t2 H8 |3 v) b8 n- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers$ X4 {* `. x4 p1 v* ` w
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties+ D3 a1 u2 C5 _9 z
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties9 O v( q/ l4 W
- provide volunteers for various programs
* K, U' X5 J3 r5 r6 L- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
a* {* M4 D- }5 y% Y- w. }- T: U- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
; W$ j; q" d @& G0 T [- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities; { w, z; r" l
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
, n$ B6 ?, |0 a- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
V, t8 U0 r6 ]$ w- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed% D8 e3 U+ {5 g- q; P
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed* q: m0 {9 ^, z% p. `% g
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
- P5 J3 m6 N7 Z U0 s% C- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ( [. a4 M9 ^" V X3 o
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual & }1 p _4 E; u' ]
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
: z$ M% d: Y$ q8 N1 T- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
( n/ a. G" ^; e- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
) ]8 ^1 F' }2 {8 S" ?1 n, b4 B- evaluations
" B- ^/ W z- x O6 [- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications9 Y9 D7 w* u; t! y# I( T% V& `
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
# z6 K+ d) ?7 @6 k, y- good oral and written Chinese and English skills0 i' P! W$ Q+ h6 E
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
2 X9 a0 Y( z7 V3 S) e- leadership skills
& W! @3 j# ]& l: ]$ {- management and supervision skills; }/ E7 O7 P/ B6 G, a
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills: E% v( y, c, n7 S9 w5 w
