- submit information for community news
1 O6 \% f" d7 w% d ^4 H- provide volunteers to update membership database
* k# R( H( X/ g3 ^0 ~- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
& j. v% p4 X/ E# j3 X# c- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties, q h0 }, |% n1 s4 v' b
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
, n X/ u' `: m5 q- provide volunteers for various programs 2 |0 p; z+ \5 L- g" x
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual$ J2 a8 ^! i+ ?3 C
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation9 n6 \6 F" V7 q8 G
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
5 e/ L9 E6 p1 }) `7 |, |/ X3 B- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
' ~0 _+ \+ J/ W: q F3 r- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports6 N* S. C. y# W
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
- w# h- ]* ?, S: k) p$ Y- W- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed( I' R7 r6 B$ {
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
O4 _; q1 X3 k$ ], C+ W- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 5 ?: K& Z$ d% \4 K
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
* E) W' @5 U4 z- n8 B" [) L- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
9 V; P( J& S+ d- I( v- Z, A* X0 C- G- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers $ \( j* n ?% {- W- I) C
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

8 H( s9 Y% t1 w, m- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre+ @5 h! [) @ i" g0 T
+ M7 V6 k$ w! n# {% m( h7 TQualifications
, @0 U& o6 \7 }! E& C; |, |- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
u% A# g- H+ m# c- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
, q# x! C! |) d+ F+ q/ s" G7 D+ d; Q- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
, }# W+ D7 L3 s- leadership skills
1 c& ]' c# ^" c- management and supervision skills; j0 e8 g. o$ M( l
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills8 m8 o, \* z& |5 \5 S/ n, j
