CALGARY — A teen girl was taken to Foothills Hospital in potentially life-threatening condition Monday morning after a head-on collision that involved a "complicated extrication" near Chestermere. k! Y% E' T @+ {! E7 j |, G; k
3 l. ?. \+ _4 dAt around 8:30 a.m., RCMP, Chestermere fire crews and Calgary EMS personnel were called to Highway 791 just east of Calgary after a pick-up truck and smaller car crashed head-on, said EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux.& \& \7 k2 u4 x0 x
) Q- F; H- Z/ _2 z# W5 t; o$ \The female driver in her mid-teens, who was the lone occupant of the small car, sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries and needed to be extricated from the vehicle by fire crews.

STARS Air Ambulance was called to take the girl to the Foothills Hospital.
