Job Purpose:
/ v& b! S) ]% |5 lTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

& g( U; ~& N, o( VThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

( P$ W/ k/ J' S0 K% LAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

•        Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
( {& h% z4 b) W•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
. B" @$ N; ?& @•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
7 C% ^! l, w- F" T. y& ]•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
8 G0 b* k) U. y% }0 v7 S& {•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
9 S8 ]+ Y, F" P: z. t; N0 I# @+ a/ k•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
' C2 x0 V- t3 w0 |9 g•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
9 Y: L2 T) ?2 y! `$ a•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
4 H, `4 N& z; C$ R; ~8 y, E! A$ r•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
$ D" E% s. x# C( s•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
7 w, _4 o; g" j. Y6 f8 D! L- v•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
•        Current valid drivers license;
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
•        Conflict resolution skills;
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
•        Committed and passionate about children;


Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
