To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

9 c+ n t! L, _0 L$ [6 b• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
; `8 `0 A8 F8 k9 }1 Y! F+ ^• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;+ K- G# N1 W1 `5 ^
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;/ A5 Q# v: P1 @& C1 ^
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
! C! {( c: y6 L; w' f• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;: W t& z3 Z7 \* |
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;* L: X- X/ j+ Y. D: [& ^% W
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
1 F9 C2 c& N8 b* w• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
. G, w0 C4 G* f# d• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
' c- ?2 e: E2 m W; O* H. u$ f• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
% r2 J- C; ]; y& \' v• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications: I; I! {4 O# y! P0 ~7 a! R3 y: `
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
, ~" {, ~9 D$ M• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;. ]+ { B! T) C
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 1 X/ l, L, O5 e( m3 U7 E4 ?* a
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;, b! y- m4 ^- Q' U+ E0 y
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
2 @ }8 V7 x3 C: l$ {* Y• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
& j3 }' E) W/ v2 r, @; \7 ^• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
. I* e T$ v' P• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
/ `. r: X( ^& g6 G• Current valid drivers license;# J) W2 v2 R0 U5 \3 U
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;: B3 M& I" l/ g. }/ @9 A+ S: z5 c+ Q
• Conflict resolution skills;* ?3 q$ t' @' `! X
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;5 @8 A# M# E9 A/ T3 y. c$ l
