To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)! j- a4 H! M/ m! S; f

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
+ h0 I9 ^# s7 R8 n( f' R u" Q, h• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
/ T& h: t0 D: j( h2 @# d8 h• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;6 U. _- l7 {/ I9 e
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
$ d' ~& M# T( h2 u& A• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; u/ D) v: v$ k8 [7 k' S
• Risk Management and succession planning;/ _! \ K6 \7 K1 }

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
9 O- B( s M# p; r• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;: T; ]1 {0 }& z* S2 c/ x; q
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
0 D* T% i! e! ]1 M- O6 L• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
2 q" j: c- d' L1 n. K0 Z( P• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities+ L# J# b( q0 \* y) w0 U
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;0 e8 P) C# L4 @2 _$ M9 q
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;7 y0 I! t8 ]6 h- h$ B) `
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
: ~8 P- Y# h- H! p+ o• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;1 t( e& |$ S# o6 v* R% ?
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
& T7 K1 e6 r9 s f. R s• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
u; d$ c$ f0 k, u1 o3 T• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;' F' T3 W7 a2 B0 v
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.9 s% X4 t M" d! F- C5 y! R
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
* _& N# [3 l6 \- ?4 e8 H• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
4 l4 \/ w& N, L, W. i x& j8 {3 X$ Q7 ]• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
9 K) x& o$ E: | s% P; a• Current valid drivers license;5 | [ n5 n3 o! B+ r+ }
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
; W6 u( V3 e0 f! {• Conflict resolution skills;
