* O9 k( n9 D! a$ ZTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. + Q$ d3 ~% s6 H4 s" b6 G

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)' F6 `# k# q0 j _. M" Y/ B6 S

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:+ k% L, v) a0 e* I- d& t) z2 K! I
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
# \: c) y: m0 w* u# z) n% |" @• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;/ |" q* [# ] ~- m, Y
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;0 ?" U4 P' X C% `$ \2 u; }
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

" O$ F/ w+ `+ i& aProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
S0 w* ?2 ~& p' H. S• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;5 W3 o9 z7 n L5 a/ m9 m! @- l
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
3 [: ?% S! g9 f* i6 P• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
8 q$ b1 B$ S; {• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
; {" m7 t. y( g% D* s• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;% X* d4 ^+ j# j: K3 q, c3 ?% H3 `
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
# c2 a& O" v" S: r9 v6 N7 h• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;1 b# s, D2 V& P+ ~( e
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;. e6 ~4 P9 R. t* z9 K

Qualifications:4 S: [$ P) F" ~& o- c0 k' |# u
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
/ \9 _% X8 E+ Q1 e7 _5 g• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
" f( v$ k0 B/ A7 i4 z$ u, ~+ x! {0 N• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
' z: [3 ^" ]1 U5 S• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
1 G8 M& J: K: p* L! M• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.7 h. ]/ O6 e- R/ B w: B
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;; c9 l+ _- G5 H% P% B. q
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
; ?5 F. }4 e6 N# w/ ]6 p" _( O• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;& J7 y9 T# ~0 o& t- i. a2 T; Q
• Current valid drivers license;
; {0 Q% j2 L1 `7 G3 F3 f+ t• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
, J$ L, Z2 ^0 m: r" h; f- [- X• Conflict resolution skills;) m9 T' [6 ^2 E \
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;' v6 p+ _0 i- j( L
• Committed and passionate about children;
