Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

3 C9 N& r" W; O7 O2 F W2 LTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 5 o. ~/ S$ m6 N+ L. Z2 I+ U$ W& k
% |3 X$ o5 y1 x) }This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
' d7 m+ W0 e( y! I }4 ?4 {• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
+ J3 f- u3 {5 o9 N6 ^* N: l• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
$ D9 X0 p4 D( |& p7 f+ }* R• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
% Z; }- N- {7 o8 N" j! N& ^& ^• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 6 i! C4 D U, w; p G
• Risk Management and succession planning; J3 F4 E5 h! U3 e
; W9 q S7 W3 t: t8 W6 [7 nProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
; i) I6 G$ d: m4 e8 K* z) U- H8 m• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
/ C1 n- P7 ]- L9 B, t- y' j• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
# Z) V4 a0 f- {( C4 ^• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
. L- U* K+ A3 i• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities; K$ v/ h& B8 x4 F
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;2 U8 _1 L1 R6 F2 I3 a3 T5 }" N- F
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;

• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;4 V& F2 ~( l% E! ~- C% Q

Qualifications:' f+ T) c! q: o' {. s
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
5 p7 G. K0 `+ \4 f3 x t r• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;: K9 Q& c J& J! D9 i K
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; ( g- B# Y% }& D; p/ x3 p' c" o
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
% ?( _7 V/ p6 V( S- C1 x2 I• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
4 f {8 h9 ~2 \% a/ Q* x• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
. u) q: _6 h" Y) [! d• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;: O# U; I' G5 U5 x
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;9 I' U* n& G. _+ R/ ~4 d" k. }1 W( V
• Current valid drivers license;
; h' ], @0 S e0 T! W% O' X* V• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;$ X- |3 U& z C: Q4 y
• Conflict resolution skills;
& x! ~+ v) O6 t9 L0 Y• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;* b/ b' E. m8 j' d4 J8 {, q0 ]
• Committed and passionate about children;( J) m5 ~9 M* L4 g& n6 w
