To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 9 h! r/ B" m: d- n! i, h

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

2 G5 a! F! |2 o9 a• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;* I) T/ Q% p, q1 }# X* N
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children; K' n r- _/ Z% b' v! z% J
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
$ r. D0 U3 G+ \# v9 k+ u, n* U• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 8 N9 }+ S6 y8 h7 h! d/ J
• Risk Management and succession planning;( X8 Y& d3 q' R* V2 x" {

9 _. j* h) l w! L: V+ `• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
5 w) b$ c5 Z2 o/ o• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;/ T& B: ^2 B4 M8 ?+ G* r- u B: F
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;+ F; g; U8 }' ]. b6 m$ G; l3 t
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
n9 m* B, _+ E3 n6 p9 X* \• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;, D% [! A0 o9 V
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;+ \9 M' E$ V7 ]9 S
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
& w1 R9 e [/ P! v/ M- ?- T7 i' ?• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;5 m- T, \+ Y$ a# m8 b

% | G h- k. H! r• Degree in communications, human services or related field;* ?$ W5 S5 u; S' M) y, Z$ m
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
8 y8 {& T6 w, E+ ~% X8 t• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; & J: p: [( J8 A
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
- o% w9 z+ h" y" L1 v+ c• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical./ Q6 |) @2 n' t9 G
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
$ n* b% o5 G) I$ L• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;7 F0 g4 e5 h+ w' Y1 Z$ j
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;) r" v; \3 U- e$ M* i+ q
• Current valid drivers license;6 i% z( ?8 {! d- X7 j
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;9 }" i( X: K5 T& K4 k |& U" E. a
• Conflict resolution skills;6 |( G! c+ y( v" H) Z
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;, B( Y* w" y2 j0 p
• Committed and passionate about children;
