A male wearing a balaclava and carrying a handgun was spotted by a pedestrian walking in the area of Falconer Road and Riverbend Road at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. ( I4 @/ c+ r- [ , p: o7 K9 `7 o& B2 ^1 pPolice arrested the man later in the afternoon at the Terwillegar Recreation Centre, after receiving a tip from a resident. * |* M1 o* J4 W- |6 y. ^7 K& h. A search of the man's home turned up a BB pistol and balaclava matching the description given by witnesses. The man is charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. : S0 F4 O- L& g2 r2 K" v9 i$ ~1 }6 s. t; a
A man wearing a balaclava and holding a handgun was seen in the area on two previous occasions — the first at 4 p.m. last Friday near the Snow Valley ski hill parking lot and on Saturday on the Terwillegar Drive footbridge. $ K" o! X$ G3 Z& j
