卖10年以上的老车，对方或者自己一定要做safety inspection才能注册上保险吗？safety inspection一般花费多少？

safety inspection is the easiest, normally won't cost too much. under $100 bucks, the shop will only check certain components of the car.
and you don't have to do it, sometimes insurance will ask you. but you can always switch to another one.
