Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
, D. y" r3 @# v( U& n+ z. }; X• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
2 f+ b1 V1 K' Q- R- I; y• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST/ b6 b; z q0 A: R+ f3 _4 y& W
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately- C1 X2 E) [( M( Q! `
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter' N7 z* O. N) v( M' |+ g, p) N
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
' ~, @: V0 Y3 [8 j6 i+ K• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker

• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events2 S( n0 s; b3 b) x$ R5 s$ R
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean# g& d9 e* v, C+ ^3 i: P3 b
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters4 e, k9 P- r4 q; B/ p
• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:3 E) s; M- P# v. S. Q) g" c% p
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
! z9 j5 @, q6 q2 z- k, }1 B# |6 |• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset# H% W0 T6 Q# s' C1 F! v
• Good English writing and oral communication skills

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services

8 v8 d% a; V% t9 H: P& ~• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience ' Y v4 t% D% P; N3 \2 e" J- O6 A9 L
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
& y+ U( L5 h* U+ x* U, n1 S• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism* }3 c/ S6 G$ V2 o! T
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
