I’m told it’s possible we’ll see an “in development” announcement sometime in 2012 for a large megapixel DSLR from Canon. I have heard both 39mp and 46mp prototype(s) are out in the field.! n! w9 d0 r7 Z- o0 x! d

In development announcements seem to be getting more popular with Canon and their high end products. As we’ve seen from the EOS-1D C and EF 200-400 f/4L IS 1.4X, it seems to allow them a lot of latitude in testing and helps with public relations. It also stops sites like this speculating on arrival of new products. :) / s" u* y8 ]( o8 K" g8 C2 Q * ]' z+ F" z. x) x# Z% Y+ _cr5 e+ C7 U* U2 C. B7 h$ f: @' u+ V F& _
