9 A/ D% x6 M- C7 b" [; ?% Q
0 H7 q; ^5 ^3 d: n. l* k        1. I couldn't care less.
. k) l, i0 _1 r
. v. k! k! I4 U* O' t# B! I don''t care at all. 或 I don''t give a hoot. 例如: " M* R8 u9 {3 Q% [* ]" h

. U! R. x" Q, D* Y" l  人家如果问: What do you think of the budget-cut?(你对预算削减有何看法?)
  _4 i$ ^7 |5 R5 b" e& j7 G0 r5 S. _1 D7 r! H+ z  f+ _
  你回答: I couldn't care less.(我毫不在乎) " \# W. x. w# r# a6 p) C* W

% u* N) u% Y. y% W# g$ ?: o  How do you like Mr. Lee's political point of view?(你喜欢李先生的政见吗?)
: f  z0 z! m* p5 D- x
2 D/ V2 Q" h* M  I couldn't care less.(我才不在乎呢!) # l5 V0 _7 \  J7 k" ^. e1 k
$ M9 v: n5 E( K* @& a" K
$ E* r5 `& p8 [
6 Z0 ^: [# V' j# W+ s( ?. ^* T  I couldn't care less about the promotion or pay raise.(我不在乎升级或加薪) ) }+ j6 r# E% N3 F
- a4 e! T1 T- A" l3 i
Yes, you do(care). 8 y; @% u; Q( x7 S; e

/ z- M8 R3 L! m0 X$ Y  至于 I couldn't care more. 就是“我很在乎”(I care a lot.)或 I care deeply. 同理: : f2 E% m" U5 B- o8 y  Y

1 e- L. U  X* V! R  I couldn't agree more.=I totally agree.(我完全同意) % y, [* J/ x( V8 i# X" `
, a8 Y2 J% Q. d
  I couldn't please you more.=I did my best to please you.(我尽量使你高兴) 3 C5 |5 L& `# ?4 _5 m) a
: k9 F% S1 G$ n. [
  I couldn't be more right.=I am totally right. $ W0 q# o3 ^7 V3 X( `5 ^
( q9 q* n& K* @1 M* m' m* d
% s5 ?+ T# @6 W* k' N% e
- U! \8 w  p7 B& S% b' `  I couldn't be more wrong. 6 R; e9 T! h$ N! ?4 n$ F
8 V: r# `( r. ?: {* ?
I could care less. = I care to some degree.(care 的程度可能减少) , v, l3 z6 K% p$ S1 `/ v
. G% e6 n# `, X' @4 {
  I could care more.=I care some.(care的程度也许增加)(主词可用任何人称代名词:he, she, you, we, they 等。但只用 could,不用 can。)
6 k: _- P' h" I4 _- Y( ]6 F3 n/ H, t$ E7 [# U9 {& q8 `
  2. No bones about it.
' R8 H% N; }3 D
4 {4 Y8 c8 m6 ~0 P; C  意思是:真实的,诚恳的(truly, sincerely or exactly),也就是 to make no bones about it.(bone 要加 s, it 是指 something)例如:
( [+ F( b9 j, Y, A& f# G  X3 L0 Y; N) T/ N3 Y1 B. P5 o
  His wife is beautiful;no bones about it.(他的太太真是很漂亮)
% p! d) T: j7 K: |# ~7 u) [& M/ f3 l# U( w" j
  Mr. A made no bones about it when he talked about abortion issue.(当 A 先生谈到堕胎问题时,他是诚恳的。) 3 L; C$ |# x5 {7 ~

! }; r( I& c0 ~5 }. Q. P# Y. n  When I spoke on the topic,he said, "No bones about it."(也就是他同意我的看法) 2 E* J5 i9 J# v3 [5 ~& ^: ?
2 Q. A1 G! S" k0 ]( m9 l
  No bones about it;the weather is very chilly today.(今天是真的太冷了) 1 |: W0 s3 b1 ^0 s" h

% i. P/ U( y7 r; \. y7 T' P# s, H  3. take it on me!
2 S6 H. v3 j* W" u& B3 _; ~1 I
  意思是:“这是我的,请用吧!”“这是免费的”(help yourself to it; it is free),这多半是指吃的东西或一些不贵重的东西。例如: 7 V3 |9 r0 e$ O/ o4 ~& M0 f
/ L5 i2 a9 b+ K3 w, P" G9 f
  Here are some candies from England; take one on me. (one = candy)
! ^8 y' _6 I) z) U8 n9 R! m$ w6 l! d) T& U2 I0 c8 t4 F0 p6 f: O' x
  The restaurant owner said to me, "Take the dessert on me." (餐馆老板对我说:“尝尝我的甜点吧!”) 5 M" q% h! I! h0 T) h

  X; l$ [/ L* w' h9 _9 I, `6 m  Please take these pencils on me.(取用一些我的铅笔吧!) * N. p% M) @9 h3 I' ?8 M- E* p, p9 |
  F, {. U/ h+ s3 @# [
1 W  \' O7 a) g4 _: s/ ?3 a% b) B3 g
  (假如夫妇在一起,也可以说:Take it on us.)
% k: e' D( c' V" d6 G9 Q, b4 r& {1 \" \- \; R# M
  4. I am from Missouri. ' M) V# N% b, b9 N7 i2 B

, l7 y$ P. ^# |- b) ^  这句话有时后面要加一句:“I need to be shown.”或“You have got to show me.”,意思是 Missouri 州的人很固执 (stubborn),不太信任别人,一定要人家证明一下(prove it to me),所以密苏里州也被称为“The Show Me State”。 5 a' C0 J/ X1 P1 u# q
9 Z! ^# S9 p) L. n: f. @
S; M0 Z+ \- @
) v' C) J& X( D$ ]1 L5 ~
  He is not easily convinced because he is from Missouri. $ a( T& p* g+ E* h) J
$ |9 Z; s7 a9 a
  Don''t try to fool me; I am from Missouri.(You have got to show me.) 0 ~6 v. g. W4 M/ b( Y
6 S  a7 u/ o2 N5 q: o
  We are all from Missouri; we need to be shown.
4 g; N0 N0 x$ S+ u5 E4 R2 u4 c4 r, i) Q. o9 f
  As Mr. Smith is a tough guy; he must be from Missouri. (Smith
