Spray foam should have a higher averaged R value per inch thickness compared to regular batt insulation, and last longer. If you want the same R value, you need less thick spray foam than regular batt insulation. To compare the cost, you have to know how much R is required as per code, and calculate the required thickness and then calculate the price difference, this is my understanding, anyway, "the required R value as per code affects the insulation thickness, and the insulation thickness affects the price", hope this helps, |
