not do any of the following:
g$ |( p$ C. E9 V8 ~8 B(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor

; ?4 v0 A9 q6 R1 c2 t% T- z(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor
5 a5 v" f% @4 U# C1 ?vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
4 m2 h9 \" k+ c& @2 t- ^(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,3 U1 P9 ?6 p- C6 {2 J2 X
permit another person7 V/ _' r: `& Y. u, T2 j
(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or" g! g j; Q. @ X
(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,, a* u9 l# B0 i- f0 M' B
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;

responsibility card or a copy of it

If a person drives or has a motor vehicle on a highway4 O9 I3 G! a0 ?
without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of' ^* L: ?7 S; A- V! B' M9 I
the vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection0 N0 j; E% B4 l2 f: O, K
(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is. l& d4 |& I; r2 O% X9 F
not an insured motor vehicle.

Act, the motor vehicle is still registered for the purposes of this

! [- ^; j; f, T, BSubsection (1)(a) and (b) do not apply to a person to whom a

outside Alberta.

A person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection
/ U/ M3 q" B8 x: w B% c(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,
; o0 B& e: C/ b% ~) p7 R# g. i# ~(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500) w) I7 }) G' N0 T$ V! u
and not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to
4 R, H) L0 v8 }1 K+ Y9 u9 D% ximprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not
! L# z# L' `" W' Y2 qmore than 6 months

' V& H5 k0 s6 ~' Z. |7 i$ C. rMinimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
