not do any of the following:
2 [+ _; Y2 Y& f" L(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor
0 A4 a5 C- f8 _* I5 wvehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
9 K( I* @: ^$ A1 K) \(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor
9 R9 D6 B7 B* j; f2 o" gvehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
" A& u i' f s2 T; c0 W, F(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,
6 a% z; ?/ h3 ? j2 Hpermit another person. S% J1 v4 N1 N6 g# a. E, g
(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or( h1 x+ [& _5 K0 R# u
(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,5 E2 K2 F2 n6 {2 _! ?
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
3 _6 d8 a0 B. ?& ~# e* f(d) give or lend a financial
* X1 c+ s3 R( Z* [responsibility card or a copy of it, k4 H; v9 j Y6 ?6 a X8 V
to a person not entitled to have that financial

without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of* o# A' h& s6 e% }
the vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection
7 B G6 f# i: t# M% C& `# h: ~(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is/ x: R8 G; R) {1 u1 X4 i

Subsection (1)(a) and (b) do not apply to a person to whom a+ @1 J: Y/ ?( I4 K3 ~; M g2 }
financial responsibility card has been issued pursuant to the

3 E) s p7 i, Aby an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy
$ H# D. D1 c/ {7 a- Eoutside Alberta.

A person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection
1 o# c9 o) h" X( q( h, ^) @(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,: a1 D3 U; G+ t# a' f
(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500
( z$ Y1 ~- x- `6 Oand not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to
* V* [# x) P9 }) timprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not
# \# ?. A2 p+ \+ Z" {. }more than 6 months

Minimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
