Except as otherwise permitted under this Act, a person shall) Y. r0 M% U) l6 w G

(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor* u! L; s' }8 E X& u+ @5 v4 S
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
2 m0 n8 q- ^$ R( q(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor) |5 Z: v$ k* y' F$ y
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;% z6 }$ }+ x* B" I+ i/ L# i
(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,
% h6 H0 K' a4 G! N* `permit another person- y7 |4 S) q$ I( u
(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or3 k2 C ^: M, t8 n% D
(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,, w1 m# D6 S; O! t" `
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
7 C! u, L; L2 ?(d) give or lend a financial7 T2 ~3 O3 y: Z5 V
responsibility card or a copy of it
: e* W$ r1 H& N* m+ u' Rto a person not entitled to have that financial: M7 ^1 S h" Q0 [& o. U% E1 V4 J

without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of" p3 H: ?' m0 x4 G4 h
the vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection5 ?* s5 O) y3 F6 I% D) ^$ o: c% I
(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is% Z) O- P5 z4 C* N" B; S- E6 P
not an insured motor vehicle.

If the registration of a motor vehicle is suspended under this

by an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy

$ a3 \: l$ x1 a4 w3 i* Z* o; I, [* DA person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection2 }/ x- q( S( d+ C; n
(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,

and not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to
