8 f" W4 X K4 \$ I1 BExcept as otherwise permitted under this Act, a person shall

(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor
" p1 V ^' r& \- ]vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
. F3 z% n$ u8 g/ w4 @ h% @(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor f6 Z! A4 \ ?, Q0 f. F
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
) f) A! ^$ ~) X1 _(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,4 Y+ u- D* K; W$ D
permit another person! q5 u7 Y! E. f" q3 l: o
(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or' e4 r* D: |2 ^9 R4 a$ ^) g7 f# z- }
(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,! a! H( o# Q& M, D! X
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle; q$ S! ~! a/ P$ a$ T) O4 H/ P
(d) give or lend a financial
/ d& n* F7 c! a% Z6 X: hresponsibility card or a copy of it/ f3 m; G+ V$ j! A
to a person not entitled to have that financial

If a person drives or has a motor vehicle on a highway
# J& T7 G- b6 z9 U7 R* g8 C0 ^without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of
- j# c' ~+ e9 s- j6 M6 X, Ithe vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection( G6 q1 @4 P6 B1 S
(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is$ I# s: W4 c7 J$ x4 u" l$ I
not an insured motor vehicle.
6 s) i- L) a/ e/ _ C% V(2)# v1 y& {/ Y* R! }1 t+ a( G) \7 j
If the registration of a motor vehicle is suspended under this
* ~1 C. W( s* s8 W0 }Act, the motor vehicle is still registered for the purposes of this
' ?7 e* t. Q1 }+ \6 y$ usection.

Insurance Act

A person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection
5 Z- L$ }( T: R, U7 @( G- Y8 T; f(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,* S' ]4 n L0 a7 x6 S0 w- e, f1 D# j
(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $25009 o9 i3 F1 z9 J4 S. F( j* P( z
and not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to7 ^' V) z& N3 u3 z6 g; Z
imprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not
5 \% L( A! j4 ~ Q' ~more than 6 months
' }( }4 [" N- |+ _# t2 t X5 zMinimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
