(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor4 R) p( D$ t. |
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
. k/ }$ G! ^! |1 k S2 l(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor
# U* Q4 a2 X8 v1 _$ ovehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
. u8 w2 Q6 t& n$ ~(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,; j. J1 b) _- f
permit another person
4 z+ m; C; \9 S7 T$ e(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or

unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;4 E! b; z) }- x. n- T3 L' u9 [5 o3 M. y
(d) give or lend a financial& c. V2 v6 V8 Y
responsibility card or a copy of it5 G8 }) l1 F; y2 @ O" W$ o
to a person not entitled to have that financial

. G6 v) b+ ~& q1 s6 G! fIf a person drives or has a motor vehicle on a highway" ?# ^+ n H C f& z
without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of
5 k/ `4 u; T \ O5 T9 |the vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection
0 U3 f4 J# r! ](1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is

Subsection (1)(a) and (b) do not apply to a person to whom a
6 d/ r( C6 x$ L0 W- @: ifinancial responsibility card has been issued pursuant to the
4 n# `, a0 |' j0 HInsurance Act `! \& l' l; m1 h" w0 k0 s
by an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy. v3 M# }+ D$ S: K+ ?$ i: }
outside Alberta.

. x# p2 _1 N/ E5 A" |0 X0 S7 D' cA person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection
- n) @' j5 m$ z% G% N(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,
/ `8 q7 d# l' }2 }(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500
- J" j8 I1 x9 h% t+ Nand not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to. r; t1 ]" U* ]2 X4 P9 O
imprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not
3 k" D2 H' d7 W- E/ X% C, N0 Jmore than 6 months
# @9 ~2 J8 P' Y; R+ Q9 oMinimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
