(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor
' e; r: j( |% R1 f; Qvehicle is an insured motor vehicle;0 R! s. n9 H( l; J
(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor' R. L# u. G. Z1 G3 ^7 h
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;! M" j$ U; j& Z! M. \ E2 _2 f
(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,

/ f P6 k# F( ~7 Y) d0 r* v) @(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or
6 _& S" ~# y" `; w5 T(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,

(d) give or lend a financial; d) Y+ {2 ^# y# c4 L0 i
responsibility card or a copy of it% J1 D; Q* y" o5 W
to a person not entitled to have that financial) Y7 {# l5 d3 C2 U/ Z8 L0 h
responsibility card or copy.. K( {# \% W# {* T1 P

If a person drives or has a motor vehicle on a highway! K. J+ t3 _$ m, C& W
without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of
, x( Q. C3 a3 dthe vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection* @% Z- q" h( K8 L
(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is

If the registration of a motor vehicle is suspended under this. ]7 T; P8 K y0 d3 S0 [+ b" {- x
Act, the motor vehicle is still registered for the purposes of this9 I3 S, ^/ x5 |# o1 p
section.

( _6 @1 @! f; gSubsection (1)(a) and (b) do not apply to a person to whom a
# }; U9 i$ @/ [$ s$ @5 A0 t8 k E# Ofinancial responsibility card has been issued pursuant to the

by an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy

( m9 M I& y4 XA person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection
" U0 i+ w, _- A! a5 Z d(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,7 k/ b: f1 I2 \8 s# x) [& D
(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500
K8 Q9 i, U2 aand not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to
% u: S# [1 L; Q2 l2 Z: J( Wimprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not( \7 V' u7 h9 W6 @2 {. C
more than 6 months
+ D2 z' { m$ E2 V& i; @+ q' o6 }- ]5 fMinimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
