The AFETC supports families financially and encourages self-reliance and stability. Over the 2011-12 benefit year, the Alberta Family Employment Tax Credit provided about $114 million in tax relief to about 137,000 Alberta families.

If you meet the following criteria, you qualify for the AFETC:
) L. O4 {3 F6 A( O& g◾Resident of Alberta for at least one month,
@5 _! Z8 g% O3 r. X# K◾Parent of one or more children under 18, c9 r) d3 J& h( q) s8 K% }
◾More than $2,760 annual family working income, and
5 g0 N e7 s5 W% }8 ?8 j9 N◾A family net income of less than $53,725 for families with one child, $70,275 for families with two children, $80,200 for families with three children, and $83,500 for families with four or more children. : Y7 E2 F. ?! [+ j8 t; B2 z, m

You could receive up to a maximum of $1,919 for your family for the twelve month period beginning July 2013. The maximum amounts (as of July 1, 2013) are as follows:
