An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned.

According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12." H9 O$ H6 @8 ?8 s0 h" ]+ o; J

She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.8 j) m# w% {1 w p

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.4 {% N% J! i% {% ? J0 k; k3 h

A Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the man and woman are not being made public by the RCMP.% U; `, x6 B" ^0 u$ f
; ^! e, u) E5 z5 x: A1 m8 t! x" QRivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
