: {9 e0 h* {( cAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.

She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.0 h* [. _9 F" @5 c
9 U* u- e7 ~# I( NSearch efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said., o4 c# ]- j! |: G7 p5 O0 I5 d

A Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the man and woman are not being made public by the RCMP.

5 u, x- w) `, ~! [Rivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
