An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned. CBC's Nelly Gonzalez reports. : V/ p8 k& R/ l5 t9 M

According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.
! B" J7 M1 i" \/ p9 l* u3 L/ l
% X+ d1 Y8 K$ D$ n; fShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.. l9 D$ J$ Q' M1 q0 d9 C

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.

A Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Search efforts are still underway, as well as an RCMP investigation. (Nelly Gonzalez/CBC )
