1 1/2 lb (750 g) broccoli, flowerets removed, slice on the diagonal into thin slices

1 X1 b1 `5 L) W1 x. C2 1/2 Tbsp (30 mL) oyster sauce9 z1 O- z3 x( W
2 Tbsp (25 mL) light soy sauce% R1 R5 F" o R! [# z, ~
3/4 Tbsp (10 mL) dark soy sauce5 w6 e& @) G6 K
1 Tbsp (15 mL) sugar/ U# Q" O3 ?9 L5 t4 a
a few drops of sesame oil
; F* t* G" f# ^( ]2 cloves garlic, crushed
) o, r4 Q. c$ M! }3 M& y% E6 G1/2 cup (125 mL) chicken broth1 K2 y9 E/ O9 r& j0 p0 S
2 Tbsp cornstarch (if desired), _+ d* m2 [" v& b6 T

Directions:0 O5 _5 m: s9 m7 S1 u* Q
Slice beef and mix together marinade ingredients. Add marinade to beef and marinate for thirty minutes. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil to beef, mix in thoroughly, and marinate beef for another thirty minutes. While beef is marinating, prepare the vegetables.
/ W9 @/ L7 C; p" Y6 X! p% THeat wok and add 1 cup of oil. When oil is ready, add beef and stir-fry until it is nearly cooked. Remove beef and set aside on a plate. Drain the wok and wipe clean with a paper towel.
2 H- @, Y) A5 A& C+ `4 h3 hAdd 1/2 cup water to wok. Bring the water to a boil and add the broccoli. Cover and cook until broccoli is cooked through. Drain the wok.
$ Q- I2 T+ |+ uHeat wok and add oil (about 2 tablespoons). Add the garlic and stir-fry for about 1 minute. Add vegetables and beef and mix together. Make a well in the middle of the wok and add the sauce ingredients. Add cornstarch, stirring to thicken. Mix sauce together with other ingredients. Serve hot. s6 `7 D& O1 E8 n/ u
