要不要买房贷保险

朋友说，他办理贷款的时候买了银行推荐的伤亡保险，一个月貌似$100多，他也记不清了。保险cover主要内容是，如果贷款人（或者贷款人之一）死亡或者伤残不能工作了，保险会把剩下的房贷全部还完。买这种保险会不会太浪费，有多少人买房的时候买了这个保险呢？

这个真不如购买个人生意外险。收费少，保的钱还多。

我们也没有买这么高的保险,如果是不缺钱的主可以不这么想.

it's totally up to your age and mortgage amount. Everyone is different. You buy it for your peace of mind.

我们在CIBC做的贷款，说也是一个月100多刀，因为太贵了我们就没买，后来我们找的保险公司买的意外险可以COVER房贷的，就是有一方死亡他们就会支付房贷的，我们买的两个人的一年是330刀多一点。

You pay for what you get. Insurance company is a business. You pay a premium for the cashflow that will come in to pay your mortgage. If the customers have children, dependents, spouse with minimum employment skills, it is a must-have risk management tool to ensure the kids and spouse a peace of mind. You can't say oh, it is a waste of money. What happens if the insured die in the 2nd year when he insures $350,000(average size of the mortgage in Edmonton area). The insurance company will pay off the mortgage with no prepayment cost. The insurance company only collect $1500 premium, but has to come up with $340,000(best guess) to pay off the insured's mortgage.

I am not clear about the "意外险". Does that mean accidental death insurance? You better check with your insuraner. That is quite different from Life insurance.

I have a term life insurance policy. The same insurance company sent me accidental death insurance policy pre-approved from time to time. I don't need accidental death insurance. Term Life insurance is better for me.

Which insurance company you are representing? Insurance is never a bad thing. But the cost and reward is something the insured should understand on an individual basis.
