If we don’t start manning these jobs, we are going to lose more contracts to the non-union.

Once these contracts are gone, they’re gone. We are rapidly losing market-share which means that we will not have the bargaining power to maintain our agreements in future, and the contractors will be able to start demanding roll-backs.

This will mean loss of wages, benefits and pension.
