The Government of Alberta introduced the special Support Our Troops licence plate in 2014. The Support Our Troops licence plate honours current and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces. % |' ^& U) j- i+ b8 j' G" f- ^! ^0 _+ u) G6 N- B
The majority of the revenue from the sale of this plate will go towards the Support Our Troops Program managed by the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services. }5 H- O; s" {* f0 j, f5 L+ q
! j* A! x3 D+ ]" {# K V! q; V1 ZThe design features artwork in honour of the first 4 Alberta-based Canadian soldiers whose lives were lost in Afghanistan in April 2002.& T; A [6 m! F- s

The plate is available for a one-time fee of $75 plus a $9 (plus GST) registry agent service charge. ! I( c H8 |1 T1 Z4 {1 J% g8 r) V7 A( K
This plate is only available for passenger vehicles used for personal transportation only. 3 H/ o9 X: u4 E6 Y+ O- Z$ w7 ` 5 @3 {4 q) W& E: l7 C: ATo purchase this plate, you must show ID with an Alberta address. ) x6 f/ X8 X6 L0 |0 c & `. k( S( O' U6 \6 v3 s' NYou cannot choose the letters and numbers on the Support Our Troops plate.
