Location: Research Data Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)
Employment Tenure: Part-time/Causal (approximately 12 hours per week). The incumbent’s
6 c5 Y0 p/ m1 }5 M. c& x) Ischedule should be reasonably flexible.
Language requirement: English essential
Citizenship: Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada
Security clearance: Enhanced Reliability Check

% o6 ^0 I( K% _) Y4 W/ pStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
weekend hours.
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
6 c( W7 [0 K' |8 tlab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
centre.
7 G+ y1 e3 `( @: ~- FThese responsibilities include:
6 V  J! i' i- Q( J) O-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
) N( L" X5 D* O: q2 A' J6 S& Brenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
clients’ files etc.
! E' a& Y7 P5 M4 Q% m$ i6 kStatement of Qualifications
Education:
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
0 J2 n2 E, ^: C& J) e7 keducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
of education, training and /or experience.
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
  p' d% |4 I9 [8 e-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
and Excel.
( o0 A3 z  n& C& \* j8 W-Experience using and updating an information database.
/ l1 Y* `0 o7 a, `" A5 h
Assets:
) O& ^' M$ Z( I- ~2 W( Y& a-Experience in using MS Access.
- X, v6 v5 j6 m-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
* E! D6 H; K' L7 v! D$ M2 S9 yAbilities:
-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
