Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and

You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
: p% _6 } l! t" d" H6 [0 x+ @lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
0 h% b" |* F1 G G7 {- Y0 I1 ?; mcentre.
1 F# t$ q4 U; }1 ^6 ~These responsibilities include:) I0 a2 e \2 ]
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
+ }: S" a9 |- a& m2 T8 ^+ Z-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
+ G1 Y6 z4 ^1 |. Q+ L& W5 X-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and4 H# s3 Q5 D8 Y9 K. ~
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 4 i' @4 Z' ]6 J H; w
facilities’ maintenance, etc. 1 I/ S6 L- ?$ h& c
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic

Education:
' g( k" l" X/ A$ k- m7 h-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
* v7 c; G7 R5 h, V2 h$ Feducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
/ A( K3 V; ^) t$ U7 R; g+ Jof education, training and /or experience. 6 |& K* P4 Y3 f6 \/ d' m% F% p0 e7 x7 K
Knowledge/Technical competencies:$ R1 z; [& U3 k" w: T6 g; d4 j
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system./ Q5 S8 C! S. G/ T! r) p, o4 _! u
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
' g1 @3 t3 f8 o9 k! x& k- \3 M" pand Excel. , M) \% M/ @: ^1 Z/ M; W" y
-Experience using and updating an information database. S; m& W" F4 z& e* a* \) A
% l4 w& \( L, p/ j. H8 B3 eAssets:

2 r3 G( ]* B& P3 Y* ^-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
% p* d) P" q1 `-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
