Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
8 g1 W" |: Y' M' kweekend hours.
& ?( U, X( ~. R6 H3 fYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
* l4 v* j/ e; _lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
) N! @7 G' D% J8 G$ Y8 a8 ucentre.7 R' x6 K: l3 H8 l4 ]/ L. m
These responsibilities include:" u5 p+ O' Z2 M! S0 A- s
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.- Y$ K3 ^0 }/ y- n6 _
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
& M, F) I% w( f% F, u-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and0 C) R6 d4 e# }) Z6 G
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 8 r- }" a3 q! ^$ V& T0 z9 J# S+ z
facilities’ maintenance, etc. - O2 c4 N7 z0 |* e. H) b
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic 3 U, [3 n/ \7 K; I3 W) k6 t8 c
clients’ files etc.

{) m; W! }7 g! R7 I( I( XEducation: 3 ?0 i- w( \. N
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
/ ]6 I3 d" j' A l; e/ [5 T7 H& o. ]) seducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination / i. U d2 z1 P8 Z" f i
of education, training and /or experience.
# J1 S3 a0 L: ?4 M! A/ G- l# oKnowledge/Technical competencies:
4 L& y- X, Z% ^* G$ ?1 c) c-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
' g. A; X" _! V) T-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word1 l( j$ ~* @, q: d9 `* H
and Excel. 4 \, v/ s+ {& F, I
-Experience using and updating an information database. + m% X+ n) D6 a1 n8 y

Assets:

-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.8 G. k# {2 m" G H6 Z# e- P
-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
