The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

# i0 K( W# ^! e5 s- G1 xSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

! J' Y4 t$ v- v4 zDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
. d- v( p5 z* g  }; x2 Etechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
; s; \! c: e: K' {# finclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
: |8 i& v5 j- `* d# m8 P; K1 xanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
( h% v; {7 R0 E5 f' Q0 C* DThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
4 r$ i% E$ W; `* p* @and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
