The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

& p+ w  q; M2 y) tSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
- x: u9 d+ }1 w% D- y* j4 gtechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
9 D; {1 G* y8 [6 S- L; zinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
2 H. X: i- w: tcompounds by chromatography.

# [' L7 p2 h* f1 m2 GQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
3 H# g* C$ v4 j$ {1 qChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
  U& n* X% V4 b. o6 H6 ~) O7 fanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
* ?$ p8 F8 w  S7 Kseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
  @$ s4 W+ b; ?This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
+ f+ U  k/ S" Y: Jhope to work in these areas.
