The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

& `3 s' R: Q0 O* K& D4 RSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
! a" @! m7 p3 N9 ffor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

; E  v5 \% ?( m7 C$ oQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
# V+ S* o2 \9 J3 o/ tanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
2 ~, ^* g7 V* K0 ]! f7 x( Fof a team essential.

and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
