The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

* t. |9 z2 H5 S/ p5 p% E) _Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
3 T8 f% J7 t8 r+ S8 k  E" X5 vtechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
  c  [' a$ F& }1 p$ ~2 X7 ^/ Qfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
8 [+ ~3 w4 R* f8 y8 n- n6 vinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
* J4 O; F" a! ~7 f' r7 }* G! TThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
