currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

; d* i: G6 x) E6 w5 J: nHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
* @& I6 {( M% C  X1 f6 Q- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
5 t" L. m+ c" \, Z# Q  f, Ithe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
  H' r, Y$ m1 `. \1 H) Q9 T; dschool year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
9 X. k' M# s) R- _" g' wCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
! t/ I# Y* _8 ^! O+ jetc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
; O8 E/ L# Q' Y# ]: M) |* iparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
+ K) }+ C1 G, `their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
& J3 g# a/ X) F( qassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
  k) O3 b% K; G- Ivenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
. v# n) T8 f8 ]! Toutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
1 m0 Q  N. B4 c5 k* e! S" yexcursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
0 M4 s+ m& O! n6 B0 tfunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
) K' ?8 f* ]* E/ w8 t0 b. J0 h4 isuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
, G% @6 |: q5 B8 O; M& g/ \demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
3 h" R0 K. J) i1 i# hskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
