SERVER (RATT)

: M! i4 O( z  J+ \11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
$ h8 F# q9 q- s. pcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

0 j+ j, D- u' O8 C4 E
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
# p+ }; W; U$ j9 B1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

. W1 R+ C5 P( `1 n2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
( m' M. K( P7 Q% oaccordance with Students' Union policies.
: m; `1 x# l+ M) J% o) s' v/ l
3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.
  q# m6 w4 L! [/ g: x3 A
4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
3 Q5 M% j0 a" nincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

% H$ E8 ?. L7 u) S& V5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
- _  |5 g" U  h5 o# z6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

2 Q1 r; k& _! F; [QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
* T/ _: l( `% [/ U$ u6 f! e: `operation.
; x3 B: [; O0 [0 U& G$ ?
' e. x4 l1 p. C/ Y% x3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
$ M/ `. U8 i. u- K9 S6 R8 |policy.
! Z2 q7 W. a+ l4 _) X  b
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.
$ J, t3 [, B0 u
/ b& D7 q8 d" h9 }2 J0 ^0 y# b5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
