Thursdays

( _1 q: w" G6 W0 {0 J1 I. C, ZJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
# O/ r, j/ H% R0 i7 Ncustomer service and room cleanliness.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
  r9 ]& b3 r' M, f1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
0 f9 q1 l3 t5 c" e; ^
2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
4 G& \) B' i+ R; `% n9 Q) ]high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
5 C! j- u1 D/ X( \' Iaccordance with Students' Union policies.
3 W2 J$ b5 r7 p  o+ q/ c! p5 ^
; h/ k6 K! S8 b2 }% A3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
) E1 u" ^, F. qtotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

* S1 B, t3 f: K# O4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
$ ^" F- F, w" F9 \1 @6 oand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

6 s0 }) W- c- Z! a/ d5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
6 E% }! G' ?: M0 [1 t2 `action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

) G: b9 d6 g. _7 AQUALIFICATIONS;
; \: H# _- q. \0 ~2 V1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
6 \/ h! R9 L/ u# H
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

. e, b9 t! c  B1 d" v% }6 T3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
/ ~$ F# L  n# k6 h6 spolicy.
" C5 a5 D* g. p& v2 n
5 M1 b+ K$ u! [5 n" @5 D4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
* e) }4 b, C* ?9 ^8 G# qcard transactions.

3 A7 ?+ D% L1 j& I5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
1 Q+ g* i) A3 n# I+ [professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.
