22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  5 @8 J! m7 x. G) j" b# }) w
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
, p  N2 _6 r; t6 _procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  . s' b" C; Q, J
cleanliness and order in the bar." |, _/ k& {* c9 l& @

1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  ! F; m. d/ m7 v& B# e
beverage items.) H: [8 m! P# n0 ~

" o# {# _8 ]  c  U5 x! o2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the    N. U; B4 e% ]2 m) O& |/ G
bar and debit floats.1 y9 \$ V* q) A3 W/ E" E

3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  6 y# Q* c- z6 c
each shift, and upon closing.0 ]/ g9 N/ A) d0 X! P% l

4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  ' u4 A) {, z. Z5 m4 z
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  $ L* \. V( A. c/ P# N
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.: [9 H2 n5 _$ [$ z

) P& |& E0 T9 Q8 D1 W+ z5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
1 b5 o4 b+ Q7 ^6 V' ]7 Gstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  7 L' G  y) O) P# p
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.8 T: q2 @+ V$ L( H$ g
, z0 V1 @( k( E) }8 d3 a
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  ; {8 Y: b) W) k; }2 y( F' n
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  : [$ P9 Q( v/ L( J) y' K; R3 M
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in    g; ^# j% o/ u. }5 h$ m, Z
accordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  # U1 i2 f& @5 _0 c% d
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
0 m7 c* U) ?6 @3 r' P' z4 w To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
+ Z6 o6 p; n$ }+ ZAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.' ]9 x. L2 A% ]4 q% j

' x" e- B! N. k& c7 ^9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,

QUALIFICATIONS:
& a3 y$ H/ i- r! n) X+ W) C/ u0 J1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.3 }" L$ A& ^% l9 s. p* @

: }% B; ]3 t9 w' E( J7 H" D% @2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  8 F/ u! f7 q7 |1 x% X) U
operation.
! _' X* E9 x- L$ @! Y  E# G0 G/ p  p1 z1 g3 x
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
- o7 P# ?* _8 N! [accordance with Students' Union policy.$ g9 n% V% A& I0 }: [

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.
! D1 \, U# B# h  A7 n7 J* Y7 C+ }" {6 M: [+ B& {3 y
5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´
