ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,

Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management8 S* s) N* T W( \
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
; M! s6 y8 P. O! A' rnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED) H0 n/ B* m/ Y. [; y( ]+ Q, e! A! k$ |
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and3 }. h2 x$ t1 d# d
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
( y: L. m5 R7 O# `affairs at all times.4 Z/ w; T3 k+ c# V1 m% g& }" B
. n5 C1 W) X' Y- P1 I& FPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a5 F2 c0 Z6 @4 q1 O3 ]
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative" b5 o2 l U! r x2 }
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
9 l/ G6 N! h0 v) i3 j* ?9 b4 @media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports, O3 b. V. t6 i; U6 l$ E
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
: B9 q! o2 H ras per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and+ t+ Q7 `/ K; p. Y% B. f! }
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
/ x7 f# z" I+ Ithe right abilities to help further the organization's mission. ! p3 t3 W! \# ~$ u4 M) ?( d
7 y3 v* c+ `- `# O! GIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
( H1 y" f& W; t3 [- odevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
' w9 S2 f* Y- c$ @& n7 F) cthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure' k4 i2 @$ M8 k% S) ^" h* C
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
8 \1 n/ L8 e( mincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government- d9 P, Y% i% k' S
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
! d+ J9 ~, z6 ]! o( ?organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to) |' l p- B" D5 C f0 m) _& I
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and. B Z8 r, f W E
managing projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
