为什么要缴这么多税?

我家在西南新区，昨天收到税单，2006年是$171，500但是2007年就变为$245，500，所以要缴2045刀的税，感觉好贵啊，请问合理吗?

You can file a complaint and the compliant form is attached with your property tax notice.

But I believe that is a waste of your time and money.The City Appraisal is always behind of the actual market price of your home.

你的房屋升值了，地税自然也涨上去了。至于比例你可以对比计算一下，如果觉得不合理，可以上诉。

你的新房子市场价格（不算地价）有没有250000？
如果没有你可以上诉，如果有，赶紧把税交了，
免得上诉后给你评估值更大。

好象是一起, 不过CITY的ASSESSMENT要比真的市场价格低, 这样才好.

The first year is the assessment for the land only.  Now you have move into the new house, the new assessment price is for the house & land.
