# p- w# H" h( P" h+ FEdmonton Transit is currently seeking applications for the challenging position of Conventional Transit Operator — for positions starting in Summer 2007. This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes./ F+ }, [2 M( @
• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.

• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.

• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.
% w4 S5 c$ M) X& B• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.
1 S) G; E) S" z Y( S3 C3 V" g( B• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)
# u+ q6 m, l5 ]7 o2 j, rshowing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period. 4 M8 @1 p0 }3 z
• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill 7 C. n" z5 `2 e& R3 }" T" c
video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).

Training Rate: $16.56 Hourly
