Finance group. This group is responsible for providing the government’s economic forecast, which underpins
the revenue forecast for the government’s fiscal plan.
* {+ f  r; Z% u3 E9 h
Your main responsibilities will be to monitor current economic developments, analyze trends and assist in
; |0 O* o4 R% |6 h! @; qpreparing the economic forecast for the Alberta government. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you
$ j" A  ~5 t0 Hmonitor developments within Alberta and the global economy and assess the implications for Alberta’s
economic performance and major revenues. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable
$ s$ L/ W3 z" v  Gyou to present the results of your technical analysis to a non-specialist audience.

1 D7 b" U! t; Y- M. ^$ e' L/ pYou will work in a team environment and be comfortable in defending your analysis and forecasts to others in
* E7 w( G0 W/ \% t; d# h( Wthe group. The ability to manage numerous projects will prove valuable as you will have to meet multiple
: n( T% ~" _; E- Mdeadlines. The ability to develop or enhance forecasting models would be a definite asset.

$ N( b7 U; F) U$ pQualifications: Master’s Degree in Economics is preferred. Equivalencies (such as a Bachelor’s Degree and
significant relevant work experience) will be considered. This position requires a strong grasp of economic
: [2 l- @6 u: |$ E: Q0 Q4 {; xtheory and quantitative methods, familiarity with economic research techniques and knowledge of econometric
software (e.g. ESTools, Eviews, Shazam), and excellent communication skills.
